Maria Carty has been working in Special Education for more than 20 years, teaching at the studio 27 years and our special needs program started 17 years ago. She has incorporated her knowledge and love of dance to create a very unique developmental approach to dance for children of all abilities. Every child should be given the chance to learn the art of dance at a level that is appropriate for their body, mind, and spirit.

Children with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, and sensory disorders can enjoy and learn the fundamentals of dance, music, and movement at a pace that is appropriate for each of their individual needs. Our dance program started 11 years ago and has given a sense of community, inclusion, compassion, love, and acceptance to all of our students and their families.
